Duke Holds Off NC State, 94-78

With help from Zion Williamson’s 32 points and RJ Barrett’s triple-double, only the fourth in program history and the first since 2006, Duke got the win in Durham against Kevin Keatts’ NC State Wolfpack. It wasn’t a perfect game and essentially was to get into shape after a rough week– RJ Barrett and Marques Bolden were reportedly ill throughout the week and with UNC next week it’s just been kind of a whirlwind after the Louisville comeback.

There were a lot of dunks in this game– NC State was very undersized in comparison to the Blue Devils, as we do start four guys 6’7″ or taller. As alluded to before, the offense was on display tonight, at least for RJ and Zion. RJ put up a triple-double whilst “under the weather”; we can’t wait to see him hopefully at full strength on Wednesday night.

It was a great night in attendance as a number of Brotherhood members filled the crowd. Tyus Jones got out to support his younger brother, Tre Jones; fellow 2015 national champions Grayson Allen, Quinn Cook, and Amile Jefferson also attended. While not a former player, Floyd Mayweather also made the trip.

Bleed blue. The greatest rivalry in basketball is back on Wednesday.
