Basketball season is here, and I could not be more psyched. This season’s exhibition starts (other than the Canada tour) starts tonight with Virginia Union University at Cameron Indoor Stadium. People are very worried about our marksmanship, but we need to remember that the team that takes the floor tonight (and this is just in their first game for some players) will be very different from that that played in Canada: Tre Jones, Cam Reddish, and Alex O’Connell were all injured for all if not 99% of the trip. These three will probably end of being three of the best shooters from range on the team. Alex led our team in 3-point % last year.
Alright, alright, I’ll get to what you want to hear: Zion and RJ. I try to give the other guys some time in the spotlight, but SportsCenter is going to have to watch every game we play in order to pick up the tops plays of the night. Zion does things like this:
And you guys, that wasn’t even a dunk. RJ Barrett? Three words: Number. One. Pick. Sorry, everybody else. Step aside:
Okay, the dunks are nice, but they’re not all. He’s a good shooter who just keeps getting, he’s a ballerina around the rim, and he has the length to be as effective a defender in college and beyond as he was in high school.
Bleed blue. It’s basketball season! I said it before and I’ll say it again: it’s my favorite time of year. Go Duke!
